ENGAGING THE PUBLIC TO HELP SHAPE THE FUTURE OF DOWNTOWN TORONTO

Downtown Toronto is experiencing rapid growth and the core’s population is expected to double over the next 25 years. The City is developing a comprehensive set of policies to shape Downtown’s future growth and to create the infrastructure necessary to make it a great place for all.

I was commissioned by Studio Jay Wall, to create a bunch of illustrations to help Torontonians reflect on their own relationships with Downtown.

The work included illustrations to demystify the 7 strategies for growth, 16 avatars of Torontonians, to help tell stories of people from diverse backgrounds and a city skyline that appeared in posters across the city.

The illustrations were a medium to initiate dialogue with all Torontonians and to encourage sharing of opinions, concerns and solutions to the future growth of the city.
